MSC to raise Europe-to-Asia rates
Liner carrier Mediterranean Shipping Co. said this week it will raise rates from all parts of Europe to Asia by $100 per container beginning Nov. 1.
The increase comes “in view of strong demand for space and equipment on shipments from Europe to the Far East,” the carrier said. The increase applies to all origins, destinations and commodities.
MSC is also raising rates on shipments from Japan, Korea, China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan to all Australian ports. That increase is $250 per TEU and is effective Nov. 1.
